What is Register?
Register is one of a small set of data holding places that are part of a computer processor. it hold computer instruction , a storage address , or any kind of data (such as a bit sequence or individual character).

(2b)

TWO TYPES OF REGISTER

Pick two

(1) - memory address register(Mar)

(2) - program counter

(3) - Accumulator Register(AC)

(4) - Memory data Register(MDR)

(2C)

3 functions of Register

(i) - Register are used to quickly accept , store and transfer data and instructions that are being used immediately by the CPU

(ii) - Register is used for storing the results that are produced by the system

(iii) - MDR is the register of a computer's control unit that contains the data to be stored in the computer storage or the data after a fetch from the computer storage

(2d)

(i) - Register are storage locations internal to the processor
While memory or Ram is located external to the CPU

ii)General memory can be addressed on byte boundaries while Registes may not be able to access all the bytes in a register

iii)Register are temporary storage in the CPU that hold the data processor is currently working on
While Main memory(RAM)hold the program instructions and the data the program requires

A logic gate is an elementary building block of a digital circuit. Most logic gates have two inputs and one output. At any given moment, every terminal is in one of the two binary conditions low (0) or high (1), represented by different voltage levels.
